Birthday Blog!

hey everyone! just wanted to share riley's birthday with you, sorry it is a few weeks past due :) we had a great time celebrating with family, then we went to the festival of trees, and riley went roller skating with daddy at the roller rink, i also threw in some other funny pictures i wanted to share. i hope you all enjoy!

Election Day!! Iowa goes Blue!

hey everyone !! the polls are just about to close here in iowa so i just thought i would let you know who we voted for with some cute pictures. this may be premature . . . but things are looking like they are going to swing our way :) i hope everyone got the chance to get out and vote, all the kid here were disappointed that they are not old enough to vote, so i thought i would give them a picture shout out!!

Trick or Treat . . .

. . .and other fun things. Happy Halloween everyone !! Reese had her first experience with trick or treat last night and we had a blast. Tiff met us her with her kids and some of their friends and luckily another 3 year old named Adam to trick or treat with Riley. They had a blast together and had to hold hands the whole time, and then they would get up to a door and say "trick or treat" in unison . . . it was so darn cute. They were having so much fun we actually stayed out for 2 whole hours!!! Of course Reese passed out in her stroller after the first 45 minutes. When we got home we were passing our candy by the handfuls just to get rid of it all in the last hour, but then we got rid of it too quickly and we were done passing it out before 8pm. Here is a funny video of Reese dancing to our trick or treat tree, as Riley calls it. And some other cute pics I thought you might enjoy. We did lots of fun Halloween things this year. We were in a Halloween parade last week and got to ride on a float and pass out lots of candy to all the kids! We rode on the float with Grandpa, Grandma Julie, Judy, Angie, and Sophia. Joe and David walked next to the float pushing strollers and Reese of course took a nap through most of it:) Riley had a ton of fun and ate plenty of candy herself. We also ventured out to a pumpkin patch with a big group of friends and had a fun day at the petting zoo, launching pumpkins, playing in a bounce house, going on a hayrack ride, and picking pumpkins. We have had a ton of fun in the last few weeks, I'm sure the kids are going to be bouncing of the walls bored this next week, but I am looking forward to it :) I hope everyone has a great Halloween!

quick pic blog

hey everybody !! sorry it has taken me sooooo long to blog. our life is sometimes hectic to say the least . . . as is bedtime when i used to blog. so i must start to find a new time of day for computer related activities :) and for those of you waiting for me email responses as well . . . please re-read the line above :) i promise i plan on getting to everything asap. but with the outrageous storms, flooding, cleanup, amongst other daily life activities i am just not sure when that will be. so please forgive me . . . and for new here are some pics i hope you find cute and worthwhile!!

riley loves to color under our dining room table, it's like her hideout, she loves to cuddle with reese, although she is disappointed that she can't play with toys yet . . . but she keeps trying ( see dinosaur pic ). then of course, even though she loves reese, she tried to take back the nursery by moving all her toys back in one day, and the other pic is her all padded up to ride her super cool scooter :) i had to include a picture of reese with grandma great from her baby shower, too cute! an adorable close up of reese taking a snooze on my lap, her favorite place to sleep . . . go figure, and some other cute pics of our girls together. more to come later . . . grins to all!!

1st day home

hey everyone-

just thought you might enjoy some more cute pics from the hospital and our first day home. we are still trying to get settled in ( 2 weeks later ) but i will definitely try to keep updating :) life with 2 girls is an adjustment, but a very welcome and exciting one. everyone is doing really well so far, just trying to keep up on rest. i will definitely write more next time :)

Happy Birthday Reese!!

hey everyone !! just wanted to post a quick blog and say happy birthday to reese elizabeth!! almost one week old already she was born april 14th, weighing in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. riley took to being a great big sister almost immediately (i'm sure i'll have to remind her how excited she was when she turns 13 !!) she is so excited for baby reese, she loves to help out and reese is the first person she has to say good morning to and the last one she has to say goodnight to. enzo is excited for a new person to sniff as well, and i'm sure he will be as great with reese as he is with riley. david and i couldn't be more excited, i can't believe we have another baby girl !! we feel like riley has grown 2 years in 2 days, and we are now officially a family of four. i just wanted to share our good news with everyone and say thanks to everyone who has been there for us . . . more to come later. love the millers

Rainy Days and other fun things

so we have been quite the busy clan getting ready for baby miller #2, but even amidst all of that there is still time for fun and silliness. some of the pics are a few weeks old, but i wanted to share them none the less. even though we didn't make the trek out of town like the other marshall maniacs to watch central play at state, we still showed our support at home, especially watching the final game on tv! riley was way excited for basketball and wore her marshall maniacs t-shirt and cheered with her pom poms( both gifts from sara of course!!) every night we played a game. she got way into and even got enzo in on some of the excitement. david has been crazy busy as usual, and big congrats to him, he passed his big test, so we now can refer to him as "master plumber." i know i know, so many possible jokes to follow, but we are really proud of him, and riley had to pick out a balloon for him and as soon as he walked in from work she ran and gave it to him along with a big hug and kiss, it was so sweet! back to the crazy busy part, whenever he is home riley and enzo are all over him, i get a little jealous of all the attention he receives, but it is a nice break as well. we have had a lot of rainy days lately so david and riley spent one morning becoming "master fort builders," as you can see from the pictures of course. they got more and more elaborate as the morning went on, david even had to enter and exit thru riley's tunnel! everyone had a great time playing, even enzo, who kept throwing his toys inside or jumping on the top to destroy it, just happy to be part of the gang. i hope everyone is doing well . . . and i am looking forward to being able to crawl around on the ground and play again soon!!

Happy Belated Easter

hey everyone -

happy belated easter, i know we are a few days late . . .as usual. but here are some pics from easter i thought you might enjoy. in usual miller fashion we were gone for the entire day on easter going from place to place, but it was a lot of fun as usual. easter actually started off on saturday for us, i took riley to an easter egg hunt with abbi, elli, and aunt tiff. it went by super fast, but riley had a great time, got some goodies, and thankfully it wasn't nearly as cold as it was last year. then on sunday we hit mom's house for breakfast, she started a new tradition of easter coffee cake! yum yum!! she even dyed the frosting fun easter colors to match the filling inside. then we had some last minute errands, lunch with a big part of the miller clan, followed by some more hanging out at david's uncle jack's house. then we headed back to mom's to hang out with everyone there, including oma, and have another easter egg hunt in aunt tiff's basement. why in the basement, well because this is march in iowa and of course it was sleeting and snowing outside, and no one wanted to be out there :) afterwards we had a great time playing guitar hero, band style, b/c gabe got a new guitar for his birthday so now multiple people can play at the same time. then we all came home and crashed by 9pm!! including enzo who snuck in bed with us :) i hope everyone else had a great weekend as well, talk to you all soon :)
