Another winter storm

hey everybody -
i know, i know, long time no blog for me as well. it's amazing how right after the holidays time just zips right by. not much is new just been busy with the usual stuff, working on the house and such. right after josh, anne, and hadley came to visit we moved riley into her "nice new room" which all in all has been going really well. it's a process that we definitely are taking step by step: with some really giant steps forward and some mini steps backward. i'm glad we started when we did so we have plenty of time to work out the kinks before baby miller #2 arrives. i have another doctor appt. tomorrow and things are going really well so far. aside from the fact that we are yet again in the midst of another winter storm. tonight it's not so much the snow that is a problem, but the 50 mile an hour wind out side is doing a number on our lawn furniture, trees, david's been out to pick up the grill and relatch the side door a few times already, so hopefully it doesn't last too late tonight. kristin and her family were in town a few weeks ago as well for a visit, and they came over to play with riley, along with cherlyn, terry,and baby henry. we had a really good time, and for some reason my blog won't let me post pics right now, so see her blog for details. www.northwoodsdemarr.blogspot.com
we have also been working a bit on potty training, sporadically really. we decided to focus on only one major thing at a time and since we are moving riley into her new bedroom, we thought that was major enough. but she often tells us when she has to go, and likes to go sit on the potty and read her potty books, so we aren't really pushing it and just leaving it up to her for now. while the thought of only one in diapers is appealing, we are more focused on only one waking up multiple times in the night . . . so here's to hoping. will try to post more pics later on, when the computer is more cooperative of course :)

The holidays are officially over . . .

Well the holidays are officially over, as is our vacation. christmas was busy and great as usual, as was the week after christmas for us. josh, anne, and hadley came to stay with us for the week: a little surprise for everyone else, especially mom :)we had a wonderful time, hadley and riley were really cute together with lots of giggling and hugging going on. it was definitely good practice for david and i to have two running around the house. we kept really busy the whole week hanging out at mom's, playing the wii, playing guitar hero, going to the movies, adult night out(thanks again mom and tiff for babysitting!), nicole coming to visit, joe and angie had a baby girl on sunday, then new years! which i actually made it to midnight with the help of josh,anne,david, transformers, and of course sparkling white grape juice, and an amazing nap before dinner. and now david is back at work, josh, anne, and hadley back to colorado, all my friends visiting back home, etc . . . poor me. actually riley and i spent the first day recuperating and battling a vicious cold (i'm always sick on new years :( ) and now today riley's all about, what are doing? who's coming over? where haddie go? uncle josh in shower? aunt anne sleeping? i keep telling her it was time for them to go back to their house to which she responds, " go see them?" and i have to tell her it's far away, so she agrees and says "maybe later go see 'em?" maybe? all in all we had a great couple of weeks for the holiday and loved seeing everyone, i miss you all already !
